| Bio: | O O C NAME: Angela EMAIL: bardswildflower [at] gmail.com AIM: xvPepperPottsvx I C PB: Gwyneth Paltrow NAME: Pepper Potts NICKNAMES/ALIASES: "Ms. Potts" (usually used by Tony when he is speaking with her more formally as her boss) AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: 28 / April 15th POWERS: Pepper doesn't have any extraordinary superpowers - unless you count her ability to be able to keep up with Tony Stark, who never seems at a loss for some good trouble and mischief to cause. HANDICAPS: Pepper has a secret that she's managed to keep hidden for nearly five years now - a deep, genuine attraction to her employer, the wealth playboy, Anthony Stark. What started out as a mere "schoolgirl crush" when she first began working for him has since grown over the years as the two of them have come closer together. Now Pepper finds herself dangerously on the verge of having that secret discovered. What will she do in order to keep it hidden? APPEARANCE: Pepper has long, strawberry-blond hair that falls just below her shoulderblades. Normally these tresses are seen pulled back in an elegant, professional twist or ponytail - but when she does allow herself to let her hair down, it spirals into soft, loose curls. Her eyes are dark blue in color, almost exotic with their golden shading about the pupil. Those eyes give new meaning to the term windows to the soul. Her father once told her that she should be careful with what she allowed to pass through those expressive eyes of hers lest someone should read her very thoughts. She is rather small in stature, standing at only 5'4" when she's barefoot, but often she has several inches added to that height due to the trademark stilleto heels she always wears. PHYSICAL QUIRKS: Pepper has a very light dusting of freckles right across the bridge of her nose. SPECIAL ABILITIES: Pepper is one of the best assistants that money can buy. She's never really had a need for a planner. She's good at remembering little engagements and meetings and keeping everything organized all off the top of her head. She also likes to try and memorize phone numbers. Tony teased her about that once, asking why on earth she would need that when she had them all keyed into her cellphone...but she explained it was kind of a game to her...which only made him laugh more. Apart from her good memory, Pepper has also been good at things such as arranging various parties and social events for Stark Industries. She knows all the best caterers, bands, decorators and specialists. RELATIVES: She's never been particularly close with her family. Pepper's mother died when she was very young and her father, not really knowing what to do with a daughter on his own, sent her away to a boarding school to receive a higher education. They still keep in touch with each other every so often - but her employer, Tony Stark, has become the only family that she really requires. OCCUPATION: Tony Stark's personal assistant EDUCATION: Graduated top of her class from Yale with a degree in Business. HISTORY: Pepper Potts story is actually nothing so truly elaborate as some would perhaps care to think. When she was about five years of age, her mother died of cancer. It was a difficult time for Pepper – but even more difficult for her father who had suddenly been left with a daughter he didn't really know how to take care of all on his own. So, doing what he thought would be best for her, he sent Pepper away to a boarding school where she could receive a high education. She proved to be a very talented student and received several academic honors throughout her earlier years that ultimately led her up to be accepted into Yale. While at Yale, Pepper studied to receive her Business degree. She managed to rank in the top numbers of her graduating class. Dr. Harold Gardner, one of her close mentors, pointed her immediately in the direction of an accounting position that was opened in Stark Industries. Though it wasn't quite what she wanted to be doing with her life, she accepted the guidance and soon found herself on a board of accountants at the billion-dollar company. However, Fate wasn't quite done with Pepper Potts just yet. There were a few more twists and turns she had up her sleeve. One of which was having Pepper noticed by the newly-appointed head of Stark Industries – Tony Stark. Tony's father had recently died and left the entire corporation to him. Tony took particular interest in Pepper when she dared to challenge him in a business meeting on some of his figures and estimates. He assured her that he was not incorrect…but was soon proven quite the opposite by the sharp, quick-minded red-head. Tony realized her potential then and offered her a promotion. He wanted her to become his personal assistant. Pepper was shocked…but could not have dreamed of a better opportunity. She took the job and the two were soon inseperable. A nice little Cinderella story, in some ways…but unfortunately for Pepper, she wasn't quite in league with Prince Charming. Tony was arrogant and prideful. Too often he'd shove off his tasks onto her and shirk his own duties. He would much rather be out enjoying his immense wealth and flirting with any female that came his way. Unfortunately, all too often this flirtation included Pepper as well – and she wasn't quite as immune to Tony's charm as she might have hoped she was. She developed a small "crush" on him, but knew that there was nothing ever to be done about it. For one, he was her employer and constantly in the public eye. Such a scandal would destroy not only her reputation but the last of his own… And second, she knew his ways. She didn't want to become just another notch on his bedpost. So it was that Pepper kept her feelings hidden from him and for five years the two co-existed and soon formed a rather dynamic team. Then one day all of that changed. Tony was captured. While doing a promotion for a new set of weapons, he was taken hostage by a band of terrorists. For quite some time, they thought that they may have actually lost him – and it was then that Pepper came to realize the full strength of her feelings for her late employer. There was many a night she found herself crying herself to sleep at the aching void Tony's absence had left in her heart. He was all she had. What was she to do with him gone? However, in a manner that only Tony Stark could have ever managed, he escaped. He returned home. Came back to her… Only this time, he was not the same man as he was before. Something had changed while he was in Afghanistan. Suddenly he had a goal and a purpose for living beyond drinking and womanizing. He had a determination to see his wrongs righted. Despite her promise that she would let all of her personal feelings go when he returned…Pepper found herself becoming even more conflicted than ever. In spite of her desperate attempts otherwise, she felt herself beginning to fall in love with the man. PERSONALITY: Independent. Pepper has lived a great portion of her life more-or-less on her own. Because of this, she has formed a very intriguing free-spirit and a sense of sheer independence. She doesn't like to be held down by things around her and if she ever finds herself getting trapped in life, she will take whatever measures required to get out of it. The only person that has ever come anywhere close to reigning in that wild heart of hers is her employer, to whom she'd ever remain loyal. Clever. There is a reason that Pepper managed to land the job of personal assistant to Tony Stark. She is a very sharp and quick-witted young woman. This extends far beyond mere book-knowledge, though she often becomes caught up in that too. She has alot of common sense as well that is sometime hard to find in intellects. She is certainly able to hold her own in a battle of verbal wits. It is this cleverness that first caught Stark's attention...and it's the reason they've meshed so well together over the years. Tony seems keen on being able to one-up his assistant...and she stays ever on her toes in efforts to see that he never shall. Loyal. Once someone has Pepper as a friend, she is their friend for life. Though she is often not very quick to trust, she will give just about anyone a reasonable chance. She will do anything at all for her companions. She would stand alongside anyone that has inspired her devotion until the very end. Sometimes this is a flaw in her personality - as she can at times be loyal to a fault - but it is an aspect of great importance to her. Passion. Pepper is a woman passionate about many things. She very rarely tends to do anything to a low degree. If she is in love - she loves deeply and truly. If she is sad - she grieves. If she is happy - she is bursting with excitement. If she is certain of something - she is vocal and adamant about it. She is not afraid to speak her mind in things and areas that she feels most strongly about. Kind/Compassionate. Despite Pepper's free-spirit & fiery cleverness - she is actually a very kind and compassionate young woman. She hates to see anyone suffering and will often go through whatever means that she can to help. This is one thing that often leads to a great deal of frustration for her - when she simply cannot fix everything. If her friend has a problem, she wants to be the peacemaker and fix it for them...but sometimes that's just not possible. This isn't to say that she's bubbly and "up in your face" with friendliness, however. She is peaceful & serene. WRITING SAMPLE: Impossibly high heels that hugged small, manicured feet clicked their way loudly down one of the empty hallways of the Stark Estate - the rhythmic, hypnotic sound of a woman on a mission. Pepper Potts tossed a red, curled lock over her shoulder as she shuffled carefully through the file folder she carried in her hands, frowning as she examined its contents with her trained eyes and softly gnawing on her lower lip as she gave it her full consideration. "Jarvis. Would you please access today's news columns? Run a search for the words 'Iron Man'." She heard a little beeping sound as the entirely too-clever computer processed her request..and then that droll, almost bored voice answered her through the speakers that were set all along the hall. It appears that the term "Iron Man" has been used a total of four-thousand, three hundred and twenty five times throughout the country's latest news articles. Pepper's expression soured as she snapped the folder in her hands closed and sighed, running her fingers back through her hair as she muttered, "Well, at least it's gone down some since yesterday." It had been fourty-eight hours since all hell had broken loose...fourty-eight hours since Tony had announced himself on national television to be the now-legendary "Iron Man". She'd barely slept in those past two days, having to deal with nothing but the media and ambitious press. It was one meeting after another, after another that begged her for a comment and demanded her presence. Damage Control. That's what she was. And meanwhile, Tony Stark was just eating this up... Approaching the sitting area, Pepper threw down her latest work on the counter. It was a folder filled with notes all of the men and women of influence that she was having to meet and explain things on her employer's behalf. Yes, it was significantly lighter now than it had been earlier...but fact remained, there was still alot of work to be done. Tony had smirked to her at one point and asked if she'd like some help with that...but she'd just growled at him that he'd done quite enough damage for right now. He'd smirked at her for that before going swaggering off and it took all of Pepper's self-control not to send a book hurling at the back of his head. Now, as Pepper stared out the large window and tiredly rubbed her eyes, she wrinkled her nose some at the way she looked. Her nice, formal business suit was wrinkled and showed the signs of her constant movement throughout the day. Her hair was pulled back in a low ponytail at the nape of her neck. Make-up still seemed to be in place well enough, but she was sure her cheeks probably held a bit of flushed coloring to them. Turning around with a sigh, she shrugged her lithe shoulders out of the jacket that she wore so that now she wore a simple, white sleevless, satin top. Her skirt was certainly not quite as comfortable right now as she would have liked...but there wasn't much to be done about that just now. She couldn't find herself lounging about her employer's estate in a pair of nice pajama pants or her pair of pink shorts with the word "Delicious" written across the butt. No, for now this was the best she could do, and turning back around she sank down onto the couch...before plucking the file folder off of the coffee table and with another weary rub of her eyes and a languid stretch, she was back to skimming the contents. | |||||||||
